Aya eyed Eve's card. A picture of the girl taken when she was barely awake, the hospital walls behind her. Joy, Chion had cameras. "We're going to get you a necklace to wear this on. You need to keep this with you at all times apparently." Or so it seemed. "Until then I'll hold onto itI guess."

She leaned against the wall and slowly slid down it until she was sitting in part of the envelope drifts. This was just incredibly messed up. Kidnapped, given a means off renting a place, told to get a job...what kind of messed up rat maze was this?!

Worse, there was a kid stuck in it.

"I don't have a nursery kid, but yeah, you're staying with me. Safer all around that way."

Like the old addage of monkey see, monkey do, Eve copied her older counterpart, throwing her back against a wall and sliding down under her behind was sat right next to Aya. Not that she knew why she was doing it, but when in doubt, copy what you see being done. Be a good a good girl.

"Is that safety pr--proto- call?" She asked, sounding out the technical word. "I won't be bad. I'll follow the rules." Because yes she liked Aya... alot.

"Um, no? It's common sense. And keeping other people safe is what I do." She eyed the kid, starting to pick up the 'weirder' vibe from general weird vibe of the city. Where had this kid grown up, talking about safety protocols and nurseries?

"I'm glad you won't try to be bad but you can relax, I promise, no one is going to do anything to you unless they get through me."

Since being with doctors for much of her life Eve's first instinct was to nod and sit patiently, shuffling the cards into a haphazrd pile for later use. After all no one ever left the mess on purpose, and Eve was keen to get paper to draw on. Only good girls got to draw.

Then suuddenly out of no where a thought suddenly wormed its way from brain to mouth.

"Are you going to keep the others safe?"

Aya hsould know, Aya was special after all.

Aya nodded, once, sharply. "Yes. That is also part of what I do. I protect and serve. Once I get the lay of the land around here we'll get it all figured out though." And once she got a head count on people. That was important to know.

Maybe she could convince them all to 'live' in the same building?

"Lay of the land?" Eve asked, tilting her head, oblivious to the alien like question.

Her gaze then shifted to the room again, finding details she hadn't managed to find earlier. Carvings in the banister. An eerie blue light behind each wall fixture. Several tares in the wallpaper. If what Aya was saying meant anything to her, the strange new detailed features were it. Eve was more than happy to point out everything she could.

"The situation and people here." Aya clarified it naturally, as if she got asked such questions all the time. To be fair, her partner had a kid.

Oh boy. Those were...a lot of details. Not significant ones though unless those wallpaper rips looked like claw marks, or the carvings depicted horrible death to all residents or something. "Things that seem strange kiddo, things that shouldn't look the way they do."
